1. Who we are
OMG Local Business Space ("we", "us") is a free business directory for Glasgow & Inverclyde, operated by Online Marketing Group Ltd, 42 Robertson Street, Greenock, PA16 8QB, United Kingdom. We are the data controller for the personal data described in this notice. Contact us at [email protected].
2. What we collect
We collect personal data in three ways:
- When you submit a business listing — your name, email address, and optionally your phone number, together with the business details you provide (business name, category, address, town, website and description).
- When you claim an existing listing — your name, email address and optionally your phone number.
- Business information already in the public domain — directory listings are compiled from publicly available sources such as business websites and public business profiles. This is business contact information, not private personal data.
We do not use tracking or advertising cookies, and we do not sell personal data to anyone.
3. Why we use it, and our lawful basis
- To publish and maintain directory listings — our legitimate interest in operating a local business directory, and in the case of business contact details already published by the business itself, the reasonable expectation that they are discoverable.
- To verify a claim and hand a listing over to its owner — necessary to take steps at your request before entering into an arrangement with you.
- To reply to you about your listing, claim or enquiry — legitimate interest in responding to correspondence.
4. Who we share it with
We use a small number of processors, and only these:
- Cloudflare, Inc. — website hosting, content delivery and the database in which listings and submissions are stored.
- HighLevel Inc. (GoHighLevel) — the customer relationship system we use to manage claims, submissions and our correspondence with you.
Both may process data outside the UK. Where they do, transfers are covered by the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or equivalent safeguards. We do not share your personal data with any other third party except where we are required to by law.
5. How long we keep it
- Published listings — for as long as the listing is live on the directory.
- Claim and submission records — up to 24 months from your last contact with us, then deleted.
- Correspondence — up to 24 months from the last message.
6. Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
- have inaccurate data corrected;
- ask us to delete your data, including removing your listing;
- object to, or ask us to restrict, our processing;
- ask us to transfer your data to another provider; and
- withdraw consent at any time, where we relied on consent.
To exercise any of these, email [email protected]. We will respond within one month. To remove a listing, email us from an address at the business's own domain where possible so we can verify the request.
7. Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the UK's Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint, or by calling 0303 123 1113.
8. Security
The site is served over HTTPS and submitted data is stored in access-controlled infrastructure. Forms include anti-spam measures. No system is completely secure, but we take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data.
9. Changes to this notice
If we change this notice we will update the "last updated" date above. Material changes affecting how we use your data will be communicated directly where we hold your contact details.
